Update on the recliner situation

The people have spoken.

 I hope that the individuals who created this situation will have the strength of character to recognize and rectify their error by removing the chair before local government gets involved.

 

A case of gilding the lily

    I consider myself an open-minded dog, but I do have certain opinions. 

In the area of decor, my preference is for simple, understated and classic.

 Thus, I was unhappy to notice that someone had taken it upon themselves to add to the Stirling bench site.

It did not add to the ambiance of the bluffs in a positive way.  

  When I came back later in the day, I noticed that sitters were sticking with the tried-and-true.

  

 Change does not come easily to the bluff.

 
 

The void we fill

Here's an article about the importance of dogs to empty-nesters.

At the bluffs in black and white and blue

       We were at the bluffs with my owner's backup camera, which she has yet to master.

  We started out in black and white, for reasons unknown.

Next thing I knew we were in color mode.

And then, inexplicably, we had moved into a mode where everything was black and white, except for blue, which popped out at you.

Once I got over my shock, I kind of liked this new world.

       

  It's dizzying yet subtle.  I think I could get used to it. 

 

About a bracelet

Someone left a bracelet lying on the Samulon bench at the bluffs.

It could have been left there deliberately, in a fit of pique or rage.

But, more likely, it was left there unintentionally and  someone is missing it right now.

 It's at times like this that a dog has to take on responsibility to the community.

So I headed off to look for people who might be missing bracelets.

 Potentially a large population.

Activity at the bluffs

Sometimes when I go to the bluffs the plethora of options makes me feel like I'm on a cruise ship.

The other night, for example, there was a yoga session taking place at the same time as a game of fetch.  It was hard for me to decide which one I should join.

In the end I went with yoga, because of its lifelong health benefits.

 

Postprandial treat

    Some are partial to cigars after a good meal.  But when my family congregates after dinner, I prefer to bring out my rawhide.  

Of course, back in the day, before my family cracked down on my bone consumption, a bone would have been my postprandial treat of choice.

Charlie interview

 

Since it was Charlie's birthday yesterday, I decided to interview him.  The transcript of our interview follows:

So Charlie, I notice that you are 17 today.  How does that feel?

It feels very exciting, Lambie.

 As a 17-year-old, what sorts of things are on your mind?

Running.

So, is it true that your team will be in the state finals in Fresno on Saturday?

Yes, we are hoping to run well and have a good time.

Charlie, you are a statesman with regard to running.  Do you have the same enthusiasm for track as for cross country?

No, I believe that running around an oval is not as exciting as running across hills.  You would probably be a track dog, with your small size, but there's room for many kinds of dogs in the world.

 Any other interests besides running?

No, not really.  I like Cubicl, and of course I read a lot of Lambiedog.com.

When I joined our family you had just turned 15. Now that you are quite grown, will you have time for me still?

Lambie, I will always have time for you.  You are the most important dog in my life.

More important than Taiga?

Well, I don't want to play favorites.  You're certainly the most important white dog in my life.

I guess I will have to be satisfied with that.  You are a diplomat but I am going to guess that you secretly like me the best.

Charlie, I wish you all the best on this day and for the coming year.

Thank you Lambie.  I'm sure we'll have a good year together.  I hope to get lots of licks next year.

  

The little plane

 

Everyone worried when we noticed the little plane flying alarmingly close to the water.  

For a minute it disappeared entirely.

Then we saw it climbing towards the setting sun.
