Brief encounter

I was busy with my squirrel work, when Pookie came by.

It's always nice to see a colleague whose work I respect.   

We compared notes briefly, then each returned to our solitary labors.

Balance

I've had my head buried in my work.

But I still try to take time to smell the roses.

Take your time, my friends

When you leave your hillside homes

I will be here still.

Another grueling morning of squirrel work.

I collapsed as soon as I got home.

Squirrel work with Dolce

I took Dolce with me to check on the squirrel situation.

Dolce found a bottle of Dos Equis.

From that point on she forgot our purpose.

She's just a puppy and is easily diverted. 

I had to shoulder the full responsibility by myself.  

The fascinating ground squirrel

My relationship with ground squirrels is both simple and complex. 

I can spend hours watching them, and sniffing around their tunnels along the sides of the bluff.

Really, I don't know how anyone could ever get tired of observing ground squirrels.
